What do you do at Main Street?
My main responsibilities at Main Street deal with all small group bible studies, teacher training, and filling in with various pastoral needs. I also get to serve with several great teams like the Greeters and the deacons and plan mission events.

What is your background?
I grew up in western KY around Owensboro. I went to college at Campbellsville University were I got my B.S. I then moved to Fort Worth, TX for seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I earned two degrees: a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages & a Master of Arts in Christian Education. I am a current student at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, completing my Ed.D. While in Texas, I served as a youth minister in two different churches. Upon graduation, God called me back to KY to serve here at Main Street. I have been on staff for 4 years.

Tell me about your family.
I have been married to my lovely wife, Jennifer, for over 4 years. We have one son, Isaac (2). Jennifer is from Williamsburg, KY and also graduated from Southwestern Seminary. We live in Alexandria.

What do you love best about Main Street?
I love the fact that at Main Street you can be yourself. You don't have to put up any fronts or try to be someone you're not. People here are very accepting and loving. They have embraced my family with open arms and show us great compassion and care.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to play music (guitar, piano, drums). I love to read and watch movies. Mostly, I love traveling to new places and learning about other cultures. I love getting new stamps in my passport.

What are some of your favorites:
Music
I have become a podcast junkie. I listen to sermons, Dave Ramsey, and Al Mohler on my IPod. I love to listen to classical music while I am working in my office.

Movies
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter, The Princess Bride, The Gladiator, The Patriot, you know, "period films."

Books
Really anything I can get my hands on. J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, John Piper, John Grisham. J.R. Rowlings. Since working on my doctorate, I have been mostly reading school books.

Food
Spending 5 years in Texas caused me to become a Mexican food addict. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, it doesn't matter, bring on the salsa.
